This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of TutorTrade("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the iOS application and related website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who We Are

TutorTrade is operated by Marco Carvalho, independent operator of the SkewSense brand. SkewSense is the brand used for the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly:

  • Email address and authentication information when you create or access an account
  • Email address when you choose to receive product communications
  • Portfolio data you enter, such as tickers, quantities, and average cost
  • Watchlists, alert settings, preferences, and support messages you provide

2.2 Information collected automatically:

  • Technical information needed to operate and secure the Service, such as app version, device or browser type, and request logs
  • Service activity needed to provide features, diagnose errors, and prevent misuse

TutorTrade does not use third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking services.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect:

  • We do not collect brokerage login credentials or execute brokerage transactions
  • Optional subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. TutorTrade and SkewSense do not receive or store full payment-card information.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the TutorTrade Service
  • To send product updates you request (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • To provide AI-generated market, portfolio, watchlist, and alert context
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
  • To comply with legal obligations

TutorTrade is an informational and educational product. It does not use your data to execute trades.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to deliver the Service you signed up for
  • Legitimate interests — to improve our product and prevent fraud
  • Consent — for marketing communications (you may withdraw at any time)
  • Legal obligation — where required by applicable law

5. Data Sharing

We use service providers where needed to operate particular features. Depending on the features you use, these include:

  • Supabase — account authentication, recovery flows, and storage of account-related data
  • Resend — email delivery when you request product communications
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, optional subscription purchases, and speech recognition when you choose to use voice search
  • Google — account authentication when you choose Sign in with Google
  • Anthropic — AI-generated context using market and feature context; it is not sent your direct identity for this purpose
  • Financial Modeling Prep — market-data requests, such as symbols you request
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate and secure the Service

These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the Service and its users, or in connection with a business reorganisation.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information while your account is active and only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

When you request account deletion, we delete or de-identify information associated with the account unless continued retention is required or permitted by law. Copies may remain temporarily in backups or security records for up to 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent

To exercise a privacy right or request account deletion, use the in-app account-deletion option where available or email skewsense@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

TutorTrade is not directed at persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own when a service provider operates there. Where required, we use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism under data-protection law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email (if provided) or through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
